Is it possible to turn IK off by default so I don't have to turn it off all the time?
WARK!
Thus Spoketh Winterclaw: a blog about a Winterclaw who speaks from time to time.
(using Poser Pro 2014 SR3, on 64 bit Win 7, poser units are inches.)

IIRC, you might be able to save back into the Library with IK off in the latest versions of Poser.

You need to name the leg IK chains anything but the default names.
Poser 4 nude female:-
Internal names: "rightLeg", "leftLeg"
External names: "Right Leg", "Left Leg"
These appear to get turned on by default even if you save with them turned off.
Renaming to something like "right-leg", "left-leg" fixes it.

The easiest solution is to create your own base V4 and save her in your figures library. I took a v4, turned off her IK chains, loaded her ++ morphs and then saved her in my figures library under "V4 base". I use this as the starting pointfor all my new projects. I have this for Aiko and M4 too. Saves a lot of start up time.
