I was thinking; why not have a Renderosity Animation Award! It could serve several purposes. Create more interesting content at Renderosity. Help develop emerging artist. Help develop a presence for the sponsors. Renderosity Could also burn CD samples to sell, or include on 3D magazines. Renderosity would have some thing more they may want to display at trade shows such as Siragraph! (sorry for the spelling)Possible sponsors would be the creators/ownsers of 3DS Max Adobe Photoshop Amorphium Bryce Canoma Carrara/Raydream JASC Paint Shop Pro Lightwave Painter Poser Rhino 3D Strata 3D TrueSpace Vue d'Esprit World Builder Other potential sponsors could be, the Market Place merchants at renderosity.com.. The Judges could be representatives of the Sponsors, some Renderosity Staff, Some of Renderosities Members who are either best selling merchants or Artists with the best ratings and most viewings. 1. Indivdual must own rights to the work being sumbitted. 2. Animations should be a minimum of 30 Seconds to 6 minutes maximum. 3. One of the Software Sponsors must have been a major resource in the development of the animation... (This way you target indviduals producing work and not large companies with SGI computers using Softimage or Alias...)It also works well for the sponsors. It would be nice if there were montly contests and annual contests... Maybe to enter the annual contest you would need to win a monthly contest.. Let me know what you think. Because though Renderosity is a great site, by far my favorite it doesn't really address animation much.. all still work. Maybe at leat a Reels Gellery for animations. Deimos. P.S. It would be nice if the winners actually got either a hardcopy award or a letter acknowledge the award. Depending on the amount of sponsorship and entires possibly several catagories could be allowed.
