I renered this sphere with a chrome material shader on it in Poser pro 2012. Added a plane and then added a reflective tile material to the plane.
On first look...the chrome sphere seems to be reflecting every thing in its surroundings...but upon closer look...it is not showing the reflection that is coming off the floor ...in other words...if you look closely upon the sphere...it reflects the floor...but not the refleclection on the floor...my question is..WHY?...

How many bounces do you have set for raytracing? One bounce will not be enough ...

Yeah, I'd guess there's only one ray trace bounce used in the render settings there...?
You'd probably need at least three bounces, to get a half decent result there... i.e. the reflection of the ball in the floor, reflected in the ball, reflected in the floor again... if I've said it right ;)
How many bounces you'd get away with will depend how big / how much resolution your render has...
i.e. is a reflection of a reflection, of a reflection, of a refection going to be visible, at the resolution you're rendering to? In which case, I count four bounces would be needed?
Three bounces is usually enough for most situations, I find... unless you're rendering a closeup, or at high resolution / image size (and expect people to zoom).

I cant really tell how many ray trace bounces i have in the settings because i happen to be at my working place right now...but tonight when i am at home i will take a peek at my settings.

You can't do a reflection of a reflection in poser. The reflection is produced DURING the render and so it doesn't not exist until after the render is completed -- and so is non-existant for the second surface to reflect.Snarlygribbly posted Wed, 16 January 2013 at 12:01 PM

Here's 50 bounces... so yeah, you can do a boatload of reflections of reflections in poser.

With raytracing turned on FireFly will render the number of bounces that is set in the render settings. Raytracing will trace or follow the rays of light through each bounce that is specified at render time. BUT, each bounce increases the amount of time the render will take. Too many bounces will make a render take prohibitively long. Objects can be excluded in their properties tab.
