Hi All,
I have been doing alot of playing around with realistic renders of V4. The biggest downfall is that the hair I own does not look at all realistic!
The closes I have to realistic looking hair is Loose Hair.
Can you please give me your recommendations on hair. it doesnt matter the colour or style, as long as it looks real in a render. I have money to spend, and Im going through the marketplace now, but I would love some help!

I use the Akaste Hair by 3Dream & Mairy quite often.
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/akaste-hair/82615
The use a maie in main promo shot, but there are other pictures with female model.
Is versatile (will fit many figures) and lots of textures by other vendors for variety

Lots of nice movement morphs, and you can make it a good bit longer than I have it in my render above.

shorter tends to look more realistic with conforming hair, as the strip nature and straight lines of the textures are less obvious.

That's true. 2 other goods ones are Alanis hair and Lykia hair, but they are both female only. Akaste works for male, female and the kids, giving it a big advantage for me.

I really only use V4, so it simplifies choosing, I know enough about Poser to make any hair fit any character myself anyway. Never under-estimate the power of magnets. Awesome feature

LOL, I do as well (fit to other figures), but it is nice to have a style that looks believable on most of the figures. I'd like to see Alanis on Michael or Hiro!

IMO by far the most realistic hair is WildHair by DigiCalimero. Looks great long or short, morphs very well, no nasty burnt in highlights and renders perfectly in IDL/no IDL - (a bit resource heavy in IDL).

Edit - forget everything I just said, noticed - "This product is no longer available for purchase" Dammit.

I was going to recommend Adorana's hair but I can't find a link that is working this morning.

I will recomend AlfaseeD hair over on RDNA, or Hair by LittleFox. they make the hair not by placing planes but by using single strands. Also hair by Neftis over DAZ is really nice. with any other hair, a good set of textures can make a lot of difference.

I have dozens of transmapped hair styles, but I hardly render anything except Hair Room hair anymore.
