I'm using poser pro 2012 SR3.1, and my render settings are attached. This hasn't happened on any other figure before.
After playing around a bit with the settings, i noticed that having "smooth polygons" turned on increases the artifacts a LOT. So i turned it off, and i still get those 2 triangles. I also turned off "smooth polygons" on the individual wing parts, but that didn't change anything. I tried changing poses, morphs, textures, and lighting, but same results. Finally, i turned the shadow min bias on my raytraced main light to .2, since i read that this sometimes causes artifacts if it isn't low enough, but those 2 triangles still appear.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on or how i can fix this besides using photoshop?

And you tried checking "Remove backfacing polys"?
Almost sounds like the thinness of the wings (assuming the wings have thickness) is too much for Poser. Sometimes if you check remove backfacing polys it fixes it. It's worth a shot ;).

Laurie! Thank you =) That worked. What exactly does checking that setting do though? I did a comparison render of it both on and off, and the only difference i saw was that it removed those black triangles lol.

The wings do have a top and bottom surface. The equivalent distance btween layers is about 0.12 mm
Poser may goof on round-off for some of these.
I just added a displacement node attached to a simple_color and set value to 0.001 cm

AlanaDale: Where did you attach the displacement node and simple_color to in the advanced material room?

Depending on angle of wings, you may have to increase value (could be 0.2)
Make sure you have "use displacement maps" checked in your render settings

Thanks :) Just tried it out and that also worked well.
