Is there anyway you can make props, clothes, ect., with Bryce and use them in Poser? New to the 3D world and only have Bryce and Poser. Can someone help me out?

Bryce will export terrains and lattice's only. There is currently no way to export models created with primitives from Bryce.

Hmm, I wonder if it would be possible to create 'primitives' using terrains in bryce? You CAN shape the terrains in the editor so technically if someone wanted to go through the trouble...it would be possible...but again...that's a LOAD of work. PAN~

I have seen some fantastic organic modeling done completely in the Bryce terrain editor. It can be done... but not by someone with patience as limited as mine. -ScottK

Actually I little trick someone here posted, If you select the object in Bryce and if the "E" appears along side, click it and the edit mesh window will appear were you can smooth the object, with that open hit CTRL+D and a save as box will appear, and you can save it in a variety of 3D Formats. No longer is it terrain only exporting.

Does this ctrl+d trick work in Bryce 3D or only in Bryce 4? Tina

only in Bryce4 to my knowledge

That is how I made the blade for Battle Axe 01, it is actually a Bryce4 symetrical lattice that I exported into Poser, the rest is Poser primitives (props)..

However, I tried to export my 'boolean' sofa that way and objects made with primitives but using the boolean method don't work-they don't get that E that you need to do the cntrl-click. I exported other things fine using that method (the symmetrical lattice is considered a terrain though, isn't it--or are we just out of sequence on this thread-Cybor, you probably meant your answer for ScottK's post). The Ctrl-D method works with lattices and objects that you have imported. It doesn't work with primitives. There are people doing excellant work using lattices/g2h and other methods. In general however, lattices are much larger files than you can develop using other methods. Bryce was never intended to be a general modeler and to the best of my knowledge no plans are in the works to make it so. If you want an all around modeler you need to look at another program in addition to bryce.

Unfortunately we've lost a lot of posts, but Mike K pointed this out to me last week and I did a sample of a wood framed chair with upholstered cushions-.dxf I think, that I exported from Bryce with cntrl-D in parts (the wood frame together and the cushions together), then reassembled in Poser, exported as one .obj and then imported as 1 .obj, used grouping tool and was able to apply separate textures to the 2 different areas. Very handy-I didn't have a clue about that. Guess it would pay to hang around one of the Bryce forums. Diane
