hello
I am a amateur user of poser 2010 using external runtimes, so far no problems.
I tried to install M4 into the external runtime and had difficulty until I made a notepad file, poser.exe, and put it in on top of the runtime. M4 base file installed OK and I registered it.I then installed M4 morph ++ into the same runtime,no problem.
I can load M4 and move it around.
It responds to the set poses no problem.
It does not however respond to the set morphs, I did press the inject all morph buttons.
Any help or assistance appreciated.

Have you initialised the M4 morphs?
Go to RuntimeLibraries!DAZ folder.
Double click the DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat file.
This will then initialise the morphs.

It was a long time ago but when I installed M4 I used the DS option to install to a separate runtime so it wasn't necessary to put in a dummy Poser.exe. It might be worth your while to try to install M4 again selecting the DS fiiles option, initialise it and then install the morphs ++ into the same runtime. When you inject the morphs the dials should appear on the parameter panel when you select M4.

I trust you are using Windows. If you are using a Mac you want to use the /Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ/DzCreateExPFiles-M4.command to initialise the figure.
I installed it as you did without any issues. Try searching on "mr477" in Runtime/Libraries/!DAZ/Michael 4/ There should be 185 results if the morphs are installed properly...

Unfortunately I still have the problem.
I tried running the update M4 file, same.
I found the Mr477 files, so this is OK
Some information
I am using Windows 7 ultimate
I am using Poser 2010 (86) also called PoserPro.
I use external runtimes
The exe file to launch this is poserpro.exe , hence since M4 base installation file looks for a poser.exe file then I wonder how this could ever have been installed in this version of Poser?
As said once I found this problem I found a way out was to make notepad poser.exe file.
So my installation is a bit non-standard.
I had a look for the injectdelta files ( these are cr2, right?), see figure 1, they are in M4base/runtime/libraries/charactor.
Since I feel the problem probably lies in the file setup I have took some snapshots of the complete installation. It seems I can only attach one file, so I attach the location of the injectdelta files.
Could you please review and give me your thoughts.
Whilst I usually have external runtimes I do not mind to put M4 into the Poser program runtime. I tried this again making a dummy poser.exe file and whilst it went it I cannot find it on the Poser library?
Since M4 is a major charactor in my series I need to solve this if possible.
Once item, if I try to apply the morphs there is a small movement of M4 right leg, so there is some communication.

Cr2 is short for Character; it's the actual base figure.
You don't want to install anything except python scripts and add-ons into the main Poser program runtime when using Windows 7.
I noticed your external runtime is called 'M4 base'; did you install Morphs ++ into the same Runtime? This is required for them to work properly...
edit; the default location for the M4 cr2 is Runtime/Libraries/Character/DAZ People/ how did they end up in Character?

I also noticed that your icon associations are all screwed up. The CR2's should be referring to the PoserPro icon, not IrfanView. As WandW posted, the morph pack should be installed into the exact runtime as the base model.
BTW, the correct and official name for your Poser Version is PoserPro. Everyone will know exactly how to better respond to queries if you use the appropriate version title.

That may not be incorrect, as a .cr2 is also a Canon raw image file...
As an aside, the M4 cr2 has an earlier date than mine, meaning it's an earlier version; the current version is dated 11/20/2008...

sorry I had a bad cold so had to leave this problem for a while.
I now have file association for cr2 as poser, still have problem.
I also installed Hiro 4 (into the same M4 runtime) same problem morphs do not work

Anytime you install a new morph package (i.e.,Hiro 4) you need to rerun the updater or reinitialize. But keep in mind, M4 base plus the morph packages must be in the same runtime.
