An errror occurred importing addon OctaneRender for Poser :
ERROR: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: u'C:Program FilesSmith MicroPoser Pro 2012RuntimePythonaddonsOctaneRender for Poser64 Demo'

I guess the obvious would be to check the specified path. Make sure that the plugin is in the folder it's looking for.
It might be under the folder X86 instead of the normal program files folder. It won't work there.

Some UAC problem I guess. Make sure you're running as an administator account when unzipping the files.

I had never seen this error, then had about 5 reports within a day or two. It is actually caused by the plugin using the Poser Temp folder to store everything. Unfortunately the Poser Temp folder can gets wiped at any time (and when it does, you get the above error). So the latest release (not demo yet, sorry) uses the Poser Preferences folder to keep the important stuff instead of the Temp folder. Sorry for the troubles you had :-

Hi Paul, just want to undertand why the final version needs both the standalone and the plugin to work?

From a licensing point of view, the plugins and the renderer are treated as different products. So they are purchased separately (or as a bundle). This is actually a good way for it to be handled, since a substanital number of users are running multiple plugins. The DazStudio plugin will be out soon and I see many users having both Poser and DS plugins.
