Inspired by a incredibly wide variety of sources, everything from the BlueBell railway, Dinky & Corgi diecast toy, the Magic Roundabout (60's & New version), Biro, Thomas The Tank engine, British Rail, Hornby & Tri-ang, and even Casey Jones! Sparky's Toon Train is a cartoon style 3D model with just over 30 parts as shown below. More info can be found in the read me and best of it it's totally 100% free! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- .: A complete model train :. ToonEngine - A proper old fashioned steam train, as it should be! The engine features a highly detailed cab with pipes, levers, dials, Smart mapping also means you can change the nameplate quickly with the supplied BMP template in the textures folder. Plus you easily add a face to the front texture map for Thomas style trains (not included as I'm unsure if this concept is copyrighted or not). ToonTender - A tender for the engine, complete with modelled coal. ToonCarriage - Travel in 1st class comfort in the toon carriage. ToonWagon - A open wagon for carrying stuff - textured as the other models in primary colours for better images. ToonMilkTruck - It's a toon train - did you expect beer! :) ToonPWagon - A semi closed wagoin for carrying more stuff. ToonGuardVan - Handy for Casey Jones scenes and for hiding from the Boss, the Guards Van.

Quote - I'm unsure if this concept [firebox face] is copyrighted or not
Britt Allcroft are very keen to defend the Thomas trademarks, some have said over-keen. I assume the firebox face is part of that, so you'd be right to avoid it. They tried telling the Nene Valley Railway that they couldn't call their blue tank engine Thomas, but since the engine had been named by the Rev. Awdry himself that had to stay. However I think they had to stop putting the face on the front - I haven't seen him wearing it for some time.
Anyway, thanks for the super freebie. Please don't feel that you're in any way obligated to provide stuff to the haphazard collection of knaves and rogues that we call the Poser community - although of course we're grateful when you do. :)

EnglishBob - thanks for that, I've seen the Chuggington trains (another kids series) before, though they didn't have the round Awdry style faces I remember from the books. So I wondered if that 'face on front' concept was in someway registered, possibly as a design mark. Not seen in on other trains either. Last time saw a special one was by chance the 'Santa Express' in Manchester. Apparently a regular scheduled service which the crew just decorate with balloons and stuff. Got on it without realising, and if everyday travel was that fun and friendly I wouldn't mind commuting :) BTW - if you're into trains, local news was saying the BlueBell railway will be connected to mainline services from mid March. Lovely place to visit but unless you drive it's tricky to get to. Now it's reachable for everyone. Re - the community and freebies. I don't mind because I use these myself so it's only right to return that generosity.
