Firmly on my wishlist for Poser is caustics... for this reason:

Cycles blows everything else I use away... and it's growing every day!
ETA: oh and yeah, I modelled that - nothing all that special, I know, but Cycles makes even it look great!

A Poser model imported into Blender:

Blender exposes issues Poser gloms over... Cycles is pretty fussy. So, I'm finding myself redoing stuff for Blender. Overall, though, a very nice model.

BTW, none of these renders were more than 500 samples. I'm going to save those efforts when I actually have a shader I really want to show off. I wish I could take credit for this one:

The shader is by this fellow on the BlenderArtists.org forum named Killbee: I've been studying it. It is sheer genius. Indeed, Blender is sheer genius. There simply are no limits even as it stands now, and yet they continue making it better! Next up: SSS!!!

Most of my renders in Cycles are from 200 - 300 samples . however on an intence scene like my fisrt post i had it at 6000 samples. I know of ways to reduce it but was to lazy to setup render layers and all that

Quote - I use Blender for ALL my particle animations and renders. I wish I could zip around the interface and build quality scenes but instead find myself lost, starring, searching, and being just plain bewildered. But what I've been able to do with it when it comes to particles is FUN!
I'm still learning BLender. I have not messed with particals yet

Has anyone? It's just, .. so BIG. Kidding aside, I love the animations that can be produced and the potential is way past my imagination, so far. And I can only watch tuts for about fourty mins before my eyes glaze over and small puffs of smoke comes out of my ears.

I'm still working to learn Blender since 2.5 came out. I'm about where I was now as I was then as well. LOL One of these days, I'll have the time and inclination at the same time and try again ;).
BTW Robyn...that's AWESOME water ;).

Here is one I just did. I was trying this render in Poser, DS, and Lux via Luxus and Reality...but I liked how it came out in Blender the best! Cycles is starting to become my favorite render-er. (sp?)
I am gonna re-render this tonight, as I was trying to get it around 1600x1200, but I was getting grain using 200 samples. I am gonna try 400 tonight, but I will sleep while that one processes ;-)

That's really nice! :) Cycles is a nice render engine....and the nearly instant gratification (given you have a compatible video card) is pretty nice too :P

Now that there's an UberShader and almost-ready-for-Prime-Time SSS, Cycles will be a force to reckon with.
Just exporting a scene from Poser to Blender - going to have a go making a version of 3Dream's Ersa Hair in Blender using the new particle hair thingie for Cycles.
WooHOO! Fun? you bet!

Nice detail work - I would imagine this would be spectacular in Cycles!
