I'm crossing my fingers here...
In my quest to creat the perfect CR2 skirt file for my Hip-named-only OBJ skirt (comparing Jessi and V3 CR2 files), I noticed that Jessi has no buttocks. And her hip skirt seems to work better on her than if I try the same for V3. So I will split up my skirt mesh again into hip, buttocks, and possibly abdomen. I've looked at the PP2 and CR2 files and they contain almost the same things. Maybe one is missing center of gravity info though. I'm about to lookup what the center of gravity-mass thing is for, and if my skirt really needs it for V3. Also found some morphs for Jessi so that she looks human.

I think the Jessi and James figures had slightly unorthodox grouping? To be honest I haven't used either one in years so I really don't remember that well. LOL. Just that Jessi was "odd" looking and James wasn't half bad (but both still better than the current offerings).

Hey if joepublic can make david look like a little girl, there is hope that Jessi could be made to look human. Maybe not a supermodel but at least human.

I forget what the name of the Jessi morph is (or if it was a G2 Jessi morph) that makes Jessi look human. I haven't used her yet because I'm still learning how to use just V3 at this point, and I don't have anything for Jessi except for what Poser 6 came with.

Well I found a nice free add on for Alyson
that makes her face quite pleasant to render.
Cheers

The Ultimate Head Morphs for Jessi from RuntimeDNA can completely change her face. They are in the "deep freeze" section, so they are very inexpensive. They also have morphs sets for the G2 figures in this range. Really worthwhile.

haha, great. If you can't afford BH's Anastasia, take this instead. So much more pretty than default Allyson.

3Dream's face morphs for Alyson look really good, however. And they in the freebies section.

BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!! That's about the size of it ;). If I didn't have Tyler or Anastasia, I'd never use them at all (expect maybe for a doorstop).

Look up Eternal Judy here in the market. The old girl looks entirely different, Or, Yamato's An-An. Judy can be pretty stunning.

Yep, I know. In fact, I bought a character by Quarker that made Judy look reasonable, and I have several of the free characters from Japanese sites. Out of the box, though, Judy looks horrible. How anyone could think they'd done a good job with that freak is beyond me.
Mind you, the same could be said about most of the Poser native figures, post Posette.

I always felt Posey had a wooden face, not very expressive. I think Judy had the better body, and could probably be made a lot better now, if someone with the know how would try her. But, her face, with the face room, not a problem. About two minutes to change it and she can be made pretty nice. The way it is out of the box, too much germanic. The face room cures a host of ills.

I think Judy ruins any product she is used on. An RPG I bought used her in a chapter on spacesuits. I wished they used a heavier helmet shield to hide her face in the illustrations.
PrecisionXXX posted Tue, 12 March 2013 at 9:56 AM
Judy doesn't bend too well, maybe that can be fixed. But, whoever used her in an RPG, point the finger right at them if you didn't like the face. The "rooms" in Poser would probably be more descriptive "Tools". The tools are there, someone didn't use them.
RPG not exactly a high end use of 3d graphics anyhow, who cares?

pitklad posted Tue, 12 March 2013 at 11:26 AM
Jessy and Judy should never be rendered without hair!
Judy's head mesh has certain unrealistic spots(nostrils and proportions, teeth are in the wrong position giving a toothless smile to her) that I tried to correct with ** Octarine for Judy**, a morph that is still Judy but more neutral base to start with as any default poser figure should be, less alien I guess much younger and smoother
AnAn has several bend corrections and also added polygons for more resolution in chest and knees, Yamato has done fantastic job!

Ask twenty different people, get twenty different answers. I'm not a gamer, so RPG is somewhere about thirty leagues below the bottom of my interest list. Everyone else is going to have different opinions, welcome to them.
And so you get my point, the tools are there, the one that should have used them, didn't.

I always believed that P5 face room gave Very different results with P5 people because it had as base shape a quite neutral face
P6 and after face rooms begin with the shape the figure has already and this doesn't help get many variations, Un-Jessy, Un-Jame etc
PrecisionXXX posted Tue, 12 March 2013 at 2:53 PM
I did this one with PP 2012, you still get a neutral face to start with. Using the Female/male and the Judy dials is a place to start and work from there.
I find Jessie harder to work with, but I can get her looking pretty decent without going into the face room, she does have a pretty face, but the expression morphs have to be used going between several of them, small amounts at a time to get the result I want.
I don't normally do anything nude, use dynamic cloth almost exclusively, so how she bends, no big deal, I don't see it anyhow.

This RPG was a book with illustrations in it. The art was great except for Judy's face could be seen in some of the images.

Then apparently there were several levels of people in the know that found it acceptable. It had to be chosen by someone, approved by someone, and someone gave it the final okay.
By the same token, I don't use any of the DAZ figures out of the box either, gotta tweak the faces to make them acceptable to me. Also have to shorten the legs on all of the various Vicky's to bring them into the realm of reality. There is no perfect figure, but there are tools that can be used to reach something a little more real looking.
And, as I'm trying to recreate in 3d something that happened in reality, if everyone I used was the new york fashion magazine ideal of beauty, nobody I know or that knows me would have any idea what I was trying to recreate. As it is, I think those that would know, will know, after I ain't around to tell them what I was trying to do.
And, oh yeah. The P6 figures have no buttocks, neither do the P7 or P8 figures. MY guess would be they're based on, Horrors!, real people the artist knows.

Where's your gallery?
PrecisionXXX posted Tue, 12 March 2013 at 11:24 PM
No gallery. Just a series of images on a CD, intended for a veiwing audience of one, until I ain't here anymore, then probably the family will see it. Covers a pretty good time span, maybe age six to about twenty eight, autobiographical in a sense. But without knowing me, having been there, it would mean nothing to anyone else.
Um, no. Nothing there I wouldn't show my grandmother.
