All my attemots to make the spin function wrk correctly come to naught. Did the usual Google thing and actually saw it used in a tut from BlenderGuru.com. Following along, my 90 degree bends come out hopelessly wrong. I am almost certain it has something to do with the placement of the 3D cursor in the scene. If I play with that placement long enough, I can end up getting the proper bends, but the Y locations are usually not the same. This is frustrating. This simple image shows what I mean. Any help much appreciated.
TIA

The 3D cursor is the center of the spin. Press n-key to bring up a function box that shows the x,y and z coordinates of both the selected verts and the cursor. Adjust coordinates of cursor so it is aligned on the desired axis

Noticed the view in wich you spin affects the spin was well, spin 360° in top view is not spin 360° in side view.
