Hi all,
As I was working in 3DS Max today, I notice all the choices you can change something too. What's the difference? They all basically look alike working, so I just thought I'd ask to see what any of you have to say about it
Thanks for the input,

You might get a better response asking that one in the 3DS Max forum? ;)
AlanaDale posted Tue, 26 March 2013 at 4:47 PM
Or you might not get a response at all, that forum is almost as dead as the DS forum here.
In any case, those terms are covered in the manual as they are fundamental

Type of responses I was expecting. Why not just answer the questions if you know the answers instead of waisting time writing a useless response?

Why not look for the information in the proper places. You know there are dedicated 3dsmax forums out there, right?
When I need lightwave information, I look in newtek's lightwave forums, not here.
(And no, I have no idea what the differences are in max, BUT I'll bet with google and 10 minutes, I'd have an answer for you, even though I don't use the program.)
Why you waste your time asking about information thats always readily available out there is beyond me. And then, when people give you the best advise, you insult them!
"God helps those who helps themselves" comes to mind.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Well, there's my hourly laugh. And trust me dude, you're full of them.
RT, I've got to wonder why you would waste the time typing your questions when you could just look in the manual for your software. You have to admit, the responses above do make sense from an outside perspective. I mean, you're on permanent disability correct? What else do you have to do? Is referring to the documentation that difficult or time consuming? Or is this simply some kind of infantile instant gratification psychopathology we're observing?
Edit_ apologies for my seeming coarse meanness but my bucket of comment silence has finally filled up in this regard.

Thank you --- at least that was humorous......
I hear yah Garee --- I'll have to look and see on the 3DS Max forums. Thought I might get help here since it pertains to the modeling being done for Poser, but guess not.

Polys want crackers, Gpolys want Graham crackers, and giving any of them the wrong kind leads to a terrible mesh, rendering it all tasteless. Depending, of course, in what light you happen to see it. nods

gPoly Format
· Speed your character-animation workflow by leaps and bounds with the new gPoly geometry format. gPoly produces objects in the hardware mesh format used internally by 3ds Max, eliminating the need for conversion from editable format to the internal hardware format. The result is faster animation playback when deforming high-resolution meshes (for example, using the Skin modifier).
· gPoly delivers accelerated playback in cases where mesh deformation does not change topology.

Yeah well these things happen..
Sometimes people help some one and then it seems that same people LIE 200% to you.
and then act like nothing ever happend.. THATS wasting peoples time....
RTFM before asking is not a waste of time too ..

You would have seen this if you had put "gpoly 3ds max" into google.

Johnny,
Long explanation : Google search for G spot.
Read all you can read about it. G Poly is for some 3D apps what G spot is for women.
**Short version: ** Not for Poser
**True version: ** Read the manuals for Max and for Poser
**Technical version: ** Ask in a Max Forum.
LOL, and less LOL.
PS, If you do not like the answers you get? Change the question.
