ok I am getting pp2012...on the order page is says the option for a 5.91£ two year download thinggy.
what I cant find out is for how long my download will be available after purchase?
is this option actually needed?
can anyone give me advice?

If you go with the option it's 2 years. If not, just a couple of days I think.

I went for the extended download just for peace of mind. If you don't get this make sure you back up your download very well.

Well I didn't. And I didn't download everything immediately for fear of running over my bandwidth limit for the month. So there's a big chunk (scenes, animals etc) that I bought but I no longer can download. Doesn't seem fair.

I did - that's how I downloaded the program. But none of them work anymore.

Downloads are availible for 30 days, unless you purchase the extended download service. I don't buy it, but back it up to an external drive and burn to DVD...

Hi
I'm cheap, so I don't pay for the extended download time.
What I do is make an install disk from the downloaded file.
I label them put them in a case and place them in my software installer rack.
I put the registeration number on the label.
I also always keep a copy on my computer in my Downloaded Software folder.
I have 46 programs saved in it, going back a number of years.
But I always have the DVD or CD if I need them.
