Subject: Conforming anomaly

I made a pair of conforming boots
took them to setup room ( poser 7 )
set auto group
all looked good until i conformed to V4 and posed her
this is what I got See circled anomalys in pic

what is it and how can i fix

You are brave using the auto group. Best to first check that the groups are what and where you wanted. If they are correct then suggest that the joint parameters be checked. Most usual suspect is the spherical fall off zones being slightly too small and excluding too much. The solution is to increase their size slightly.

how do i check/see ~ spherical fall off zones ???

Check chapter 31 in the Poser reference manual (Joint Editor). The whole procedure is explained in it as well as all the different elements which come into play with setting up a conforming cloth.

If you have questions or do not understand it, come back by all means, but it is easier if you understand the basics

For boots like that you don't need to group as such - assign all of the left boot to lFoot, and the right to rFoot, and it will work just as well.

Because there are only three actors involved, you can miss off the groups at each end of the hierarchy - conforming hair is often grouped entirely to neck, for example. One advantage of doing this, apart from saving you the hassle of grouping, is that morphs are easier to make since you don't need to be concerned with carrying them across group boundaries.
