Questions, as I just bought a new laptop, and it came with the latest brain farts from redmond in it.  First is, the control panel?  Do we now crawl to the idiots that wrote that crap?  The screen it goes to for people that can't read, any way to stop it from doing that?  If not, how to get rid of all the junk they think is essential?  Any way to disable the touch screen?  I don't want that, with reasons, being as I sometimes measure off the screen. 

This thing is totally unusable as it is, could be the biggest mistake I've made in a long time. 

Or, can this trash be jerked out and win 7 installed?  Anyone tried that? 

But, is there any way this can be turned into a workable operating system?

Do Firefox and Thunderbird work with it?
