I have built a Cornell Box scene which can be found here at Renderosity in the free stuff.

For those that are curious, a Cornell Box is a construct that can be built in the real world and photographed.  Then a computer model of the same thing can be created and rendered and compared to the real world result.  Therefore, Cornell boxes are used to test 3D software for how their rendering models compare to the real world.

Since the Luxrender rendering engine is well on its way, it can be useful to build a scene which can be used to compare rendering results.  So, I built a Cornell Box for Carrara.

The model is very simple and should be easy to utilize with the Luxrender engine or the Carrara native rendering engine, etc.

I hope this becomes a useful tool as we move forward with the Luxrender engine or whatever else may come in the future.

The render posted here is the result from the Carrara Native engine.

The one concern I have is that the light source is just a simple single poly square.  This might not work in the Luxrender engine as an appropriate light source but we'll see.

Enjoy!
