Is there a great deal of difference between Vue 11 Infinite and Vue 11.5? I am finding it difficult both financially and feature wise to keep up with all the upgrades! I mainly use Vue with Poser figures and I love the enviroments along with particles. I am wondering even if I find the money to upgrade if the new features are worth it! Cheers

Vue 11.5 does focus primarily on work-flow enhancements. While there is some nice stuf (I love the ability to merge partial renders into the final render and the improvements in material handling), it is not worth upgrading to the .5 version unless you are on maintenance in which case it is free.
Apart of that, I don't think that you can purchase an upgrade from 11 to 11.5? I would wait until 12 comes out and then strongly consider to get maintenance. Over the past 5 years, I have just paid ~$200 per year and had always the latest version of Vue. A very good deal in my book. I think the new renewal price is ~$260 and even that I consider a good deal for always having the latest upgrade of my favorite software.

The x.5 versions of Vue have become less feature-full since 7.5. It may be worth it if particles are your thing, and you're getting 11.5 for free, and e-on completes what they started when they half-introduced particles. But Vue has turned into a "let's do only 1/3 of a feature and announce it as a full new feature." Even their minor new features are only half-done. Some people have to pay though if they are going to be keeping up with 3DS or Maya or etc. To them, it's not about version numbers. It's about getting deadlines met. Vue is just a small piece of the bigger goal.
To a hobbiest, this is all utter madness. I got 10 for free when I bought 9.5. But have since gone back to 9.5 because it didn't have the bugs that 10 introduced, and had bugs fixed that were in 8.5.

Many thanks for all your replies. I was on a maintenance plan with Vue 11 Infinite but I could not afford the maintenance plan renewal at the discount price when offered in April. It has left me in a bit of a dilemma as I only use Vue as a hobby but I enjoy using the program! It looks like I will now have to wait until Vue 12 comes out and then if I can afford it sign up for another mainternance plan. Cheers

To be honest, if you only use Vue as a hobby why not get one of the artist versions instead? Much more affordable then the high end versions.
Personally, I don't see the point of these .5 versions at all and as Shawn states I don't even see the full versions as full versions at all. I've got 10.... I'm not getting 11 but wait for 12 at least then it feels a bit more like a new version. I've had 6 for years.... tried 7 and even 8 and returned them both within 7 days, for m e there wasn't anything in that justified the price asked. End of last year I finally went from 6 to 10, by purchasing someone else's license and that felt like worthy upgrade step. Tried 11, but returned it, not worth all the money going from 10.

Seeing I already Vue 11 Infinite I will have to stick with it. Perhaps in hindsight when I first starting using Vue which was Vue 4 with mover I should have started with the basic versions. The thing is I like the particle option and as far I know it is only available in Vue 11 upwards. Cheers

Yes, particles Vue 11 only.... wondering out loud, can one downgrade from Infinite or xStream to an Artist version?

I was actually glad I didn't purchase a maintenance program with Vue 11. When I read what was included in the .5 release notes I was disappointed. OK, buying a full release may run me $100 more a year, but who is to say I will upgrade to the next full version?
The most exciting thing coming from e-on is Plant Factory at the moment...a shame because this is what Vue users have been asking to be incorperated into Vue since Version 3 and 4! The best upgrade e-on offer, is probably yet another piece of seperate software and not included in Vue :/

Everthing seems to be happening at once. Now Poser is being updated to version 10 and Poser Pro 2014. Also things are happening at Adobe! I think software manufacturers think that their customers are a bottomless pit of money. Cheers

I never hopped on the Victoria 4 bandwagon. So I'm doing good still with V3 and Poser 6 which works great with Vue 9.5 Infinite and SkinVue Elite. I don't plan to swich computers anytime soon, so I won't need to worry about upgrading software to run on a new OS. That would be the only reason for me to buy a newer version of Vue or Poser (if my current versions won't install or run on Windows 9).

Be careful with downgrade, you will lose many plant species with downgrade!! Maintenance is worth the $200 a year.
My two cents.
