Greetings all!
After many years away from Poser and Photoshop, I have recently (like 3 days ago) started trying my artistic skills again. I havent done any digital artwork in about 5 years, so I have to pretty much relearn everything. Thank goodness for people like you and Youtube! I spent all weekend trying to learn Poser all over again. I also spent alot of time in Daz studio 4.6 Pro. Daz is new to me but tutorials help a lot. I am using Poser Debut right now, and have the Adobe Cloud for my daughter who will be going to art school after her senior year.
I am working on making custom skin textures by using UV Mapper and Photoshop. I want to make an anime style character for my daughter that looks like her. So I am going to use Aiko 3 but change the parameters to look as much like my daughter as possible. So to get this all to fit back together do I change the parameters then pull the .obj file with UV Mapper? I apologize if this seems like a basic question but my learning curve has really fallen off over the past few years.
Thanks!
Necro

I am assuming that you are making a custom morph.
Keep in mind that if you change the vertex count, Poser will not accept the morph. You will get a notification of this when you try to import it.
If the morph takes, then no, you won't have to remap the .obj.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

Thanks for the reply and info Rokket! Custom Morph, yes thats it. Sorry for my lack of terminology. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again

If you are just using the built in Aiko morphs and setting dials then you just save the character to a new name in your library.

Likewise with custom texture creation UVMapper isn't really required for A3 as free templates and seam guides for that figure are readily available...
Seam guides for A3_

Templates are found through Daz by clicking the resources tab on the product page for A3_

While the Daz templates are fine, 3Dream's templates are nicer IMO and include colored indications of the different material regions on the figure, while 3Dream doesn't have an A3 template specifically the UV's on A3 are identical to V3's, the only difference being that A3 leg material regions are arranged as SkinHip, Skinthigh, SkinKnee, SkinShin, SkinFeet while V3's are SkinHip, SkinLeg, SkinFeet (see image)... this is simply a material region difference and has no bearing on the UV mapping. V3 textures are compatible with A3 and viseversa.

Any of these template options are sufficient for texture creation. I'm pretty sure that 3Dream's templates for V3 may be gotten here in the Renderosity Freestuff too...

Yes, the color coded templates really help a lot when matching seams. UVMapper won't do those.

Wow, thanks for all of the responses! I didnt get an email alert showing new replies so I hadnt checked back in a few days. I am really glad I did as I was about to begin a tedious process of marking, opening and seeing where marks were so that I could figure this out. You guys saved me a ton of time, thank you. As you can probably tell I am self taught in these programs as well as photoshop and I am sure that when I find a way to do things there is a much more efficient way. Thanks again, and I honestly appreciate this community!
Best Regards,
Necro
