I received a suspicious e-mail recently, which I believe may be a precursor to dodgy dealings of some kind. I thought I'd post about it here, in case anyone else with a graphics website might get something similar - or may already have done so.

Hello,
you sure do have some awesome photos in your gallery and very cool you offer tutorials, very nice :) I wanted to know if I could buy advertising on a page on morphography.uk.vu? If that is something you might be interested in please let me know.
Thanks and have a wonderful day![/quote]
Yahoo accounts have been used for spam quite a lot recently. Other than that, there's nothing in the e-mail that couldn't have been gathered by a clever script. "3D graphics" is in my site's keyword list, and the gallery and tutorials are obvious links from my front page. That message could have been generated without a human being ever even looking at my site.
Note that 'she' doesn't say what she wants to advertise, or on which page, which is the sort of information I'd expect from someone who uses so many smilies. :) I'm assuming this is designed to activate my greed gland and if I answer, in the subsequent correspondence I'll be asked for my bank details (so that 'she' can pay me, naturally).
I propose to ignore it, anyway, and if you receive something similar I'd recommend you do the same.
