Hi...

I have acquired a G5 iMac and would love to install the latest version of Blender that is possible. My question therefore is: what is the very latest version of Blender for PowerPC that will work? I found version 2.58 but wonder if anything younger would work?

Thanks,

Vincent

Hello VRG

What OS version does the G5 Currently have if it is OS X then you can install the latest version of Blender which is currently 2.67B would be supported by the OS and since you had 2.58 installed which is also supported by OS X I am sure you should have no issue running 2.67b. Hope this helps

 Hi Lobo3433

I am running OSX 10.6.8. Blender 2.67b has a circle with a line through it. I get the feeling that from about 2.63 onwards only Intel machines were supported.

Hi VRG

Ok I see what you mean yes it does seem the last stable release that would be supported is 2.63 which you can get here http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.63/ this the archived of that version and I will add that even thou it might not have the current bells and whistle it is a still a really stable build

Thank you very much, I shall try that! BTW, 2.58 runs really well.
