I made this dress for Roxie on a whim; it actually started out as a T-Shirt base that I elongated and removed the sleeves.  Hexagon totally borked the UV's, so it's just plain materials.  Roxie likes to have a cute dress to wear on her Mediterranean vacation.  I have Silo 2.something, and Modo 203.  I liked the ease of Hexagon, but it lacked a lot of power.  I like the way Modo is set up, but the UI freaks me out.  I am considering Blender 2.6something.  What can I use to make clean, nice looking UV maps, that don't end up in a pile of twisted mess?  I have invested a lot in different programs, and looking to smooth the pipeline as much as possible.  Thanks, -David

This is my method - the tools are free if you use UVMapper Classic. I use UVMapper Pro myself, and I'd recommend that as part of any 3D modeller's toolset.

Starkdog,

I use UV Mapper Pro, too. It's excellent.

And, English Bob's tutorials & morphography website are awesome.

BTW, I have Hexagon & Silo. I would suggest making the move to using your copy of Silo full-time. It's a lot better & more stable than Hex...at least for me. But I still do the majority of my uv mapping in UV Mapper Pro not Silo.
