Are you after a simple red glossy/shiny reflect or a radiosity effect, where the red is reflecting light diffusely onto other objects? The former should be easy with a red specular value, the latter requires IDL rendering. Are the valves a separate material zone to the rest of the suit?

You could simply multiply the reflection with an image texture map (see illustration).

Background on the reflect node should be black unless you are intend to plug an image into it.

BTW, the valves shouldn't all be red. Some of 'em are blue on the real thing.
