Pardon my ignorance, but I'm only familiar with pz2 files. So what's a p2z, and can I use it in Poser 4?

it's a pose file that has been compressed with gzip.
I don't recall if P4 can read them (it's been 10 years since I have used that version)
The modern versions of Poser have a utility to decompress.
You can manually extract file and give it extension of pz2

PoserPro (the original Poser 4 Pro that is) and onwards reads them. Not sure about Vanilla Poser 4.
No need to decompress unless you want to poke around inside the file. Poser reads them just fine :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Answers my question perfectly. I'll unzip, rename, install piecemeal. Many thanks indeed.

Poser has a utility that will batch uncompress them for you. Go to Scripts > Utility > uncompressPoserFiles.
