So I am putting to gether a scene in side a house with two characters that I have saved in a folder to use and reuse for several scenes so I have them as nude for importing so that I don't have to delete clothing each time I want to do a wardrobe change ( I have the empty house saved as a sperate file for this as well)... so here is my question:
is there a way to shut off all the parts of the house as being part of the list for figures to conform clothing to so i don't have top scroll down through so many objects?

Recent versions of Poser support drag and drop from the Library to the Pose window, which autoconforms conforming figures to the figure they are dropped on....

What you're looking for is something like layers (like in 3D Studio Max or Vue). I'd love a feature like that in Poser, very useful for multi figure scenes (my own figure lists sometimes drop below the bottom of my screen.....)

Same here, or even a parented hierarchy like the bodyparts list is now so that if you have a half-dozen characters, you don't also have all their clothing and figure hair to scroll through.
I think this is a holdover from the days when you could only have a few figures in total before the program bogged down, so the figure list wasn't very large.

when you right click over an area, it should show the objects under the mouse click in a quick pick list.

Semidieu has a script at RuntimeDNA as an addon for his Advanced Figure Manager script which does give you the ability to have layers in Poser. Here is a link to it on youtube so you can see it in action.

If you don't need moving parts, you could convert the house to a prop. You can't conform to a prop.
