Hi, there! Does anybody here run Poser 8 or 9 (the normal versions/not pro) on the newer versions of Ubuntu? I searched the forums, but the posts seemed outdated. I have PlayOnLinux that includes many versions of Wine that can be downloaded.

I'm trying to break off from Windows. I have Microsoft Word and Paint Tool Sai running on Ubuntu now, and Poser's the only reason I still use Windows at times. xD My laptop has Ubuntu, and right now I use TeamViewer to remotely use my Windows desktop so I can use Poser.

Thanks!

I'm trying to do the same thing, but so far I haven't been able to get it to work other than thru Virtual Box ;). Kind of a bummer...I'd like to see it work in Linux as well (Xubuntu 12.10 here). For right now I'm doing a dual boot too (Win 7), as some stuff doesn't run well in XP, which is what I have in VB atm. I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone knows how to do it ;).

I had Poser 8 working perfectly in Wine, but something changed last year and the Library no longer worked properly.  I had installed Wine Gecko, the Flash plugin  for IE, and the MS visual C runtimes.

I have't tried it lately since I have a dedicated Windows box now.

Here's the app database page...

Looking at my post, that should be Flash for Firefox, Windows version, of course.  It was an older version, I think from 2011...
