I write stories science fiction, fantasy, western and detective genres. When you buy items the merchant says if they can be used in commercial works. Ibasically just put works on my website. I make no money from it. I was thinking of finishing a couple of stories and publishing them. I see the only way would to look over the characters including costumes, posing and even lighting and making a page just for credits to images I use. I am putting this up for merchants and Renderosity to look over. If there was any problems I would just draw them using my charcoal pencils and photoshop. I would like this to be addressed. I use no nudity or anything provocotive in my works. Of course I can be hired to do web pages or illustrations, but in this matter I would not use my poser figures as it is in a totally grey area. That would be a resale of a merchants work being used by a second party. Maybe Renderosity itself or merchants coud chime in on this.

As long you're selling renders of bought models and not models themselves, most merchants should have no problem with it.

Unless the licenses have changed any product from Daz or renderosity is licensed for commercial use. That is any image you produce in Poser using purchased products is yours to do with what you want. There were a couple merchants that restricted use in their readme files.

Freestuff should be treated as personal use only unless the readme/license file says otherwise.

Oh thank you very much, that what I figured. I have written a few books and have my poser purchases in them. Not many and not large; just to give the reader prospective. I have bought a truck load of products from renderosity and Daz. When I get one of my works readt sometime I will run it through the forums.
