Subject: ISO: Dynamic curly hair with widow's peak... (Poser 10 allows for that right?)..

I'm currently using Udane hair - however, in DAZ, hair doesn't respect gravity (physics/cloth/dynamic).  However, I really like the look (esp. curls + widow's peak).

Please tell me there's something similar (curls + widow's peak) that anyone knows about which is dynamic in nature.

Also, please confirm that Poser 9/10 allows for gravity/dynamic hair. (Is there something I need to look out for in the hair product or a specific version of Poser)?

Thanks! [any info appreciated... hoping to save lots of time before trial & error].

Poser's dynamic hair has recognised gravity since version 5, I believe.

With version 10 it was improved and now you also have a choice of using Bullet Physics instead of the ordinary Poser dynamics.

Bullet Physics can also work on transmapped hair if the hair prop is correctly constructed (I am not an expert on this, dynamic hair is my thing). You can even use Poser's dynamic cloth system on hair, but again the hair prop must be correctly made and properly welded together, otherwise it will fall apart during the simulation.

Making a Poser dynamic hair prop with a similar style to the one you have shown shouldn't be  difficult, but you may need to take the skull cap into a 3d modelling program to make sure that you get the hairline right with the widow's peak. If the faces on the skullcap are in straight lines and the skullcap isn't very high resolution, it will be very difficult to get the style right.  You may be able to tweak it with the sculpting tool in Poser, but I would like more control.

Very nice hair you are using there. I love widow's peaks on both males and females.

If you are thinking of upgrading Poser, go straight for the Pro 2014 version if you can. Many advantages especially the fitting room.

Thank you.

I noticed on this Smith Micro tutorial that it says "Poser Pro is required" at the top. I believe that is wrong... can someone clarify?

Thanks,

That is wrong. Considering at least some of the pictures are  from poser 7  it's odd that they say that. Everything in that tutorial can be done in any version of poser with the hair room, which includes every version from poser 5 on up.
