Sci fi Funk is an animated sci fi adventure set in London 2064ad.

In episode 8 we fly into "the new city". This is the new London, designed to house multi-millions of people in giant "people farms".

This episode along with 5-7 has taken nearly 3 years of my life. Most of the work went into the modelling. The lighting also took time. Funnily enough the 3d animation was the easiest bit! It is a fly through after all.

Not so much the rendering or even the animating, but the modeling and planning.

This episode takes us from the abandoned sector of the east end of London in 2064ad, to the outskirts of the new city, a place where the outcasts of society scratch a living. We are scanned and arrive at the entrance of a people farm "Gansill Towers".

As someone who has spend several years trying to get my animations off the ground, I am impressed by your work, the amount of effort you have put in, and the fun direction of your animations.

As I am beginning production in a couple weeks, I am encourage and grateful for your tutorials and work in general. Thanks so much and keep them coming!

Thanks restif,

Episode 8 was a real labour of love. almost 3 years (episodes 5-8) with the vast majority of the effort going into 8. For most of that time I worked 11 hour days, with 13 hour days in the last two months. Some of that time I worked part-time for some income.

It's a tough road, sacrifice wise, but the sense of achievement at the end is wonderful. What ever happends now this work WAS completed.

I wish you well in your production. Is it sci fi? Remember: you can't fail if you don't give up! Do send me a link when you've something to show.

Cheers.

It's a pleasure. I've made 60+ tutorials on youtube which mainly talk about large scenes as well.
