I am not sure if this is where I need to put this thread but since I plan to do my rendering in poser I thought I would ask what kind of 3d software you would use to make a landscape? I want to make something like trees that can blow in the wind as well as water that I can animate with ripples in it.
I have thought of wings 3d but I don't know if that would really work out.

Most go to Blender, as it is extremely powerful and free.
Check youtube for scenes, landscapes, trees tutorials.

Wings is a good modeler (and it's free too), but it doesn't animate. You can, however, use it to build the landscape, then animate it in Poser.
