I don't create enough to use this...but I would SO prefer being able to upload a larger SIZE image (the kb size) ...if you have enough bandwidth and space for 5-10 images a day, why not allow a bit less, but larger kb size ?
THIS IS WHAT ARTISTS REALLY WANT!
BUT your website also has "0" for kb size limits for the image itself?! Although I STILL have always been prevented from more than 500 kb ...
Just sayin....

Images are not just served one way, each user must download said image(s) on Page Load. The size, order, and number of total requests (which include images) can drastically affect Page Load Time and Page Render Time.
That'd be my guess.
