As we move forward with the new FAQ, I would appreciate input from the membership:

What threads in the forum (old or recent) do you feel REALLY are useful in answering questions/solving problems?

Post links to your favorite threads in this thread to be used as a resourse in creating related FAQ pages!

Hint: If youy don't know how to do this, it's simple. Navigate to the thread you wish to nominate. Hit Ctrl-C. Make a new post to this thread. Hit Ctrl-V. Done.

Wiz, I think you'd need to click in the address bar of the page displaying the thread, otherwise Ctrl-C wouldn't know what to copy.

poser has evolved over last 20 yrs such that dynamic forum is only real alternative to static FAQ IMVHO.  however my favourites are ones to which bagginsbill or geep posted.

I've been lurking on this post for a while... I'm trying to make a hair that's a sort of transmap-dynamic hybrid, and this post has been really helpful :)

And of course, almost any post from bb. It's nice to understand WHY what I'm doing is or isn't working, and I think knowing a bit of the science behind it all really goes a long way. I don't feel cripplingly dependant on others for shaders or textures like when I first started poser :)

My favorite threads have been community project threads.  The odf Antonia thread being perhaps the most obvious, among those.  My second-favorite have been script or utility development threads.  Both of these types of forum thread really show off the potential of the Renderosity Poser community.  They show us at our best, being collaborative and giving and inventive.

Unfortunately they also aren't really dedicated to answering common user questions or solving general Poser problems.  My favorite threads of that sort are usually threads where Bagginsbill comes in to amaze us by revealing that Firefly can really do some stuff, but you have to understand the math and physics of light and optics to work the magic.  The only trouble there is that these solutions are... almost esoteric.  The average user can't generalize to useful principles without learning the math and science background, so the solutions presented tend to become a sort of Poser dogma, leading sometimes to entrenched attitudes suggesting that there is only One True Way to use Poser.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

I'm not a big fan of Sticky threads because we all have different interests may perhaps there exist many interesting folders as users are in this forum, but maybe the idea of one  "Table of Contents or index " Sticky thread is would a great idea

Thread that talk about light (IDL), the thread talk about basic and advanced  rendering options, threads to talk about textures / materials, threads to solve the common problems in poser ,  (ej: the libraries do not work or can not I install a 'x'  model) , dynamic cloth threads   are central in a good list for my
