Subject: Possible to copy specific head morph features from one figure to another?

Is it possible to copy a specific feature -- a nose, for example -- from one custom head morph to another compatible figure?

I have a custom V4.2 character that's a tweaked version of a purchased 3rd party character but there are some facial features from another character I'd love to use.  I've attempted to do it manually via ZBrush with little success.  Any chance this is possible?

Thanks!

Export the modified V4 head as a morph, then load it to afresh copy of V4.

RENAME the morph into Custom_Morph.

The spelling must be EXACTLY like this:

Custom_Morph

Poser will now treat it as a morphbrush-made morph, and you can erase the parts of the morph you don't want with the "restore" brush.

Don't remove too much as you can't go back and forth as you'd normally do.

You might have to do a bit of blending to match the new features with the original faceshape.

Once you're finished, spawn a new morph so that you can use the morph brush and the Custom_Morph channel again in the usual way.

Thanks for the tips!  I think I understand each step.  Here goes...

You could also mask the unaffected areas on your target model, line the heads up so that the affected area matches as close as possible and then run a Project All in ZBrush. You will likely have to do some relax smoothing (hold shift to start smoothing then release shift without releasing your mouse button/lifting your pen) to soften the transition from the morph to the masked area but it should work.  Joe's method should work too but if you ever want to try it in ZBrush again, that'd be how I'd do it.

JoePublic, that's bloomin' cunning. I'm saving that tip for later reference!

Thanks ! It's quite an old trick so I can't remember who actually first discovered it.

:-)

If you use PP-2014, the BODY "Custom_Morph" channel will automatically be set to "1" once you open the Morph Brush.

So set the value for the new "Custom_Morph" you created for the head back to "0" as otherwise the morph will be duplicated.

Pic shows M3RR with Moggadeet's "Bela Lugosi" face morph.

I used this trick to remove the upper part of the morph and only keep the lower shape.
