want to bring in art/mesh models into blender to make them 3d mesh objects .
using the newset relase of blender 2.69.
when i trying importing the SVG file to blender nothing appears anywhere in the work area at all.
Blender dosent seem to want to get the file from the folder where its kept. How do i get it to find and read this file.
Had no trouble in 2.57 doing this until the program file got all mangled in some kind of computer corroption problem which killed alot files

Should have no issue importing the svg file unless it is damaged. Do you have perhaps Inkscape installed on your PC and then try opening the file in Inkscape to determine if it is maybe the file itself and or do you have any other svg files that you can try and open in Blender to see if they and this should actually be the first thing to check is to make sure the SVG addon is actually enabled in the addon in User pref. usually it is on by defualt but worth checking.
Good Luck

ok let me explain this. Use "Inkscape" to draw or make the image file and then use "Blender" to make objects for modeling. Importing Inkscape to Blender 2.57 was easy open the file import it and there it was ready for more work.
thats how i worked until computer problems kill that copy of blender and my svg files to boot. they cant be read from my stored/bac up copys. So i started all over again by getting the new realease of both programs. The programs work all right no problems with them.
It has something to do with "Blender 2.69" and its file import system it cant find and see or read the files. Figure there might be somthing not checked or marked or something like that.

OK is there some way you can save the file so I can download it and test it? You can use site mail if you like to send me a link to where I can download the file I cant think of any other way to determine if it is the file or Blender itself

I just tested SVG import in Blender 2.69 to see whether there is anything wrong. It works, but in my case I find anything imported in that format is really really really tiny. So try selecting the listed SVG item after importing in the outliner and scaling up by 50 or so. Provided there isn't anything wrong with the SVG itself, there should be something there.

There might be something worth downloading.

blender finailly reads / imports "SVG" files. guess the problem was where the file was and name kept it from coming in.
And yes they are very tiny have to zoom the camera in to make sure they are there and ready to us and upscaleing the mesh is a must to work with on svg imports.
Thanks for the help
