Hi

this render is in low resolution, but help to show the problem.

M4 has the oiled body, except for the face and neck.

the problem is the conjunction of the skin between the neck and the rest of body.

as you can see in the render there is a trace net, because they are two different parts of the skin.

how can I do to fix it without using postwork?

A trans map?

ideas ?

thanks

I assume you only want the body to appear oiled and not the face ?

Then you need to control the oil sheen with a specularity map instead of simply adding it directly to a material group.

This will give you a smooth transition between oiled and non-oiled bodyparts across group borders.

Or you could create a mask with a soft edge to exclude the face from the shiny shader...

EDIT scroll down to BB's post with the Phantom of the Opera-like mask here...
