those damn parameter dials almost make me long for the days when Poser's sliders were still being used. I'll click on something trying to select it or spin it and all of a sudden I'll get that annoying "Edit Parameter Dial " Window to pop up.

Quote - Okay this isn't a complaint thread or a wish list exactly. It's a pet peeve about our favorite graphics software. Who knows? Maybe one of you will help me solve mine. I've never reported it because it's not really a bug, but...

That's a bad contact in the mouse button. I have it constantly, but my three trackballs are all more than five years old and the switches are getting "touchy". It doesn't take much of an intermittent bad contact for the computer to interpret it as a double click and her comes the screen. Irritating though, I agree.

You can change the sensitivity of your mouse double click in Start > Control Panel > Mouse. Mac probably similar.
AmbientShade posted Sun, 06 April 2014 at 12:21 PM
That may be happening because your double-click sensitivity is too high.
You can change the mouse sensitivity in the control panel on windows (i'm assuming you're using windows).
Also, if that doesn't work, you may want to do a thurough malware scan/removal on your system. I had an issue a couple months ago where my mouse would doubleclick on everything in and out of poser completely randomly, and it just continued getting progressively worse. I thought it was my mouse going bad, so I swapped it out but nothing changed. After swapping it a few times, I started investigating for malware. Did a malware bites scan 3 or 4 times and got rid of a crapton of junk, until scans showed zero infections. These are things that McAfee, Norton and MS Security Essentials never detected. Once my system was clean, my old mouse that I thought was worn out, worked just fine.

Is there a way to change the default settings on those dials? They're not nearly sensitive enough at the default so I always have to keep changing each one.
(My pet peeve is that's there's no way to multiple select - anything!)

Neither of my "work" (play) computers are allowed to know there even is an internet. More than likely, in my case, how many operations a Chinese imitation microswitch can perform before it's worn out. I think I'm well past that point.

After you've reset the sensitivity, resave the figure and that will become the default.

Yes, that would be ideal. However I only have one PC. I used to have a laptop as well but it died a few years ago. I need to upgrade this one but that requires this green fibrous substance that I have none of and is increasingly difficult to obtain.

Thanks! I'll try to remember that.

I probably shouldn't be saying so, but roughly every other year, I buy a new one, and yes, I know I'm fortunate to be able to do this. I think that's ended now, everything I look at now has Win 8 stuck in it. I have a laptop under the dresser, gathering dust, because it has that useless piece of junk in it. Unusable, totally. It's been there for the last six months, but with the weather moderating a little now, won't be long before it goes into the attic of my garage, where I'll never see it again. We all make mistakes we come to regret, buying that one is mine. Gotta wait another year for the next one, probably Linux.

What I do, I have Roxie with her hair, IK off, use the joint editor to zero the pose, texture loaded, save as a new figure. Saves time of having to turn IK off, zero her and add my favorite hair on her. Done this with most of the figures I use.

It wasn't until I read this that I realised it used to happen to me all the time and annoyed the hell out of me, but it then stopped for no apparent reason.
For the last few months I have been using 'Slim Parameter Panels' by Netherworks which I find great and I cannot remeber this problem while using this. Not sure if this is a coincidence but I do find the Panel useful when there are a long list of parameters available.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Don't get me started! Everything about Poser Pro 2012 since Serial Update 3. But Poser 10 should be coming in the mail a few days from now. Then.....I'll probably have a new set of gripes.
