Think I found the right lighting and formula for making the characters look photo realistic on the bridge set, one trick is to reduce the color satuaration with a gray scale alpha channel which brings up the shadow threshold.

I also opted to change the displays to be more bluish and reduced the color saturation on those as well.

some of the images here wont show that because I did those before I thought of it.

This image was in the experimental stages where I was looking for the right lighting and color satuarion levels.

I was also building new crew to fully crew the bridge at this point.

I know the displays look pretty good in full color, but I think they have more depth of field by reducing the color saturation and giving them a kind of crt bluish hue.

Fantastic work as always. You've done a marvelous job of capturing their likenesses, and it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into getting things just right.

playing with blurring things to root them to the scene, it's a complicated learning curve since i'm used to wanting things to be crystal clear and in full color.

in one image it's clear the others been blurred, as you can see the blurred one looks as if they are there the clear one, they seem to be not really there, like floating above the background set.
