Subject: Problem with downloading site-linked freebies

There have been several freebies that are linked by the Download button to the hosting site where they require separate clicking to download, and in some cases the popup window is not scrollable and it is impossible to actually get to the required link. ShareCG is an example. It takes me to the product's ShareCG page in the popup window, which I maximize and the download button is still off the screen and there's no scroll bar to get to it.

I usually notice in the forum before making sure the link is correct, but to prevent this, such as pop-ups from other sites, I'd rather post it on the site of origin in the case here! 😄

Oh, I understand that! The problem is not the hosting on other sites, but that there is no scroll bar on the new window so I cannot reach the product at all.

Are you living in NC or just visiting? That is where I am! :)

I live in Brazil!
I'm just a member of this community and very much like Renderosity given, mes feel at home and lodge my freebies here since 2003.
Regarding the problem with downloading a freebie and scroll bar, try the following, click on the desired freebie, wait for the pop-up window and wait a few seconds that your download will start automatically. Another thing is check your browser is disabled oseu to open windows Renderosity.

Have a good weekend!

Yes Gendragon is correct if you can give it those few seconds it request it should load automatically.  We have had several others ask for the scroll bar and I will be glad to address this again with our programmers.

Apologies, I'm afraid I'm not making myself clear.

With most freebies in Freestuff, if I click the Download button, the popup page telling me that my download is being prepared pops up, and then seconds later, the file becomes available for to download.

With SOME freebies, I click the  Download button, and the "Please Wait While We Prepare Your Download File" window pops up, and then it redirects to the site hosting the freebie. In cases where the link or button to download from the site page is below the level of the popup window, I cannot reach anything to click because there is no scroll bar that allows this.

I have attached a screenshot of the result for clicking this example: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?download=48610 . This is a file hosted on ShareCG. After the "Please Wait" window pops up, it automatically redirects to this page: http://www.sharecg.com/v/22769/browse/11/Poser/Gritty-Bar-Props . But unlike when you navigate to the page through the main browser, there is no scroll bar so I cannot actually see the download link on the ShareCG page, as shown on the screencap.

I hope this makes it less confusing.

Hello Minyassa !

I tested this link in Google Chrome Browser and it worked perfectly!

This kind of problem sometimes occurs with this browser due to scripting flaws updates etc !

If this is your browser , you could check if this happens in incognito ? Press CTRL + SHIFT + N and test .

Another method , again I say if your problem is with Google Chrome browser :

Could you take a test ?

Go to this directory in windows explorer :
C : Users USER AppData Local Google Chrome User Data Default User stylesheets

In the User , you put the user name of your computer .

Once in this directory , find the Custom file. Click to open in a text editor ( Notepad) and then paste this code :

:: - webkit - scrollbar {
width: 10px ;
height: 10px ;
}
:: - webkit - scrollbar -track - piece {
background-color : # ffffff ;

After paste , save and close the file .

( I solved this problem this way , through a forum ) .

Note : I suggest kindly that let Tinak can evaluate this tip I'm sending you , it was a case of what has worked for me , and programming is not my specialty , but I like to try to help !

Good luck!

Hi Gendragon. I don't use Chrome, I only use Firefox and I keep it updated to the latest version. Is the scripting similar?

I do not use Firefox, but it's a good way to find a good solution for this. Try this address please; https://support.mozilla.org/
Surely, you have more objective answers!

Tina is already aware, but the issue with the scrollbar is the calling JavaScript.

For those interested, it's detailed on page 2 of a related thread in the Comminuty Section.
