Some time ago here at rendo we had the “Diti” which was short of Do it to it. A system wherby other members could Pimp another members shot, I thought I'd resurrect this idea with a snapshot taken from my back door. It is in reality one of the 7 bracketed shot I took to check out the new Photomatix pro5.

Do what you will and post it back in this thread, let's have some fun again around this place :)

Admin: Any chance you could sticky this so it don't get pushed down the list before others have had a chance to have some fun? Of course if it does not take off then obviously un-sticky it.

For instance, just a simple inversion.

mbz2662 posted Thu, 01 May 2014 at 1:56 PM

My wifi is down. I did this one on my phone. I added a few new photo apps and haven't had the chance to play with them. So here is my first effort with pxlr...

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Thu, 01 May 2014 at 1:58 PM

Very neat idea here Melinda, and thanks for playing :)

Stiil using my phone here.  This was done in the cartoon me app.

Nice one auntie.  Liking that lens flare :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Sat, 03 May 2014 at 12:13 PM

For your passion Tara, I think you should have the next Diti :)  How long did they run for?  Can't remember now.

auntietk posted Sat, 03 May 2014 at 12:50 PM

Usually a week.  I've put a note on my calendar to post a new DITI on Thursday.  :)

Glad you liked it!  I straightened the wide-angle building flare, as well.  :P

Yeah I had noticed, that's the 40mm pancake lens on a 1.3 crop, can be pretty wide.

  Look foward to Thursday :)

My bit of fun, Ronnie.

Duplicated the layer and played with contrast, lighting, gradients & sepia...

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Sun, 04 May 2014 at 11:39 AM

Nice fiddle Clive.  I loved the diti, and it is with great pleasure I recovered the idea.  Shame something so "fun" got forgotten eh?

mbz2662 posted Sun, 04 May 2014 at 2:00 PM

Really cool DITI fiddles, Tara and Clive.

yes, it is a shame these get forgotten.  I tend to lose the threads, then get busy and forget.  Another fun one, is the forum challenge.. which I need to find and check out, since I am thinking of it.  :)

Happy Sunday <3

Okay, here's this week's image ... DITI!!

Gravestones along the Natchez Trace.  A bit of Frontier-type history!

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Wed, 07 May 2014 at 10:01 PM

Excellent image Tara, I shall have a go at this tomorrow now, just got off the hook with honey.  4 am here in UK.  I see you also sent me site mail, I will read that now.  Night night to you and Bill

Ron

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Wed, 07 May 2014 at 10:35 PM

No good I couldnt resist it.  Turned day into night fixed the headstone, and a few fake moonbeams seal the deal :)

NOW I am going to bed!

cfulton posted Thu, 08 May 2014 at 5:49 AM

Thanks Tara, here is my effort.

I created 2 more layers, converted the gravestones to B&W and played with levels to get them darker.  The background was also converted to IR B&W, with a difused glow added.  Then added a diffused outer glow tho the gravestones and saved. Viola!

auntietk posted Thu, 08 May 2014 at 8:42 AM

Wowser!  Excellent  fiddles, you two.  I love the results!  Since Ronnie did the last one, I believe this puts Clive in the hotseat for next week's DITI.  Are you game, Clive?

I concur Tara!  You are the next candidate Clive :)  Excellent job BTW Clive.  Then after that Melinda should have a shot

cfulton posted Thu, 08 May 2014 at 11:14 AM

This is cool, thanks! ☺

I will submit one next Thursday 15th.

Great fun!

A little fun with your DITI shot

helanker posted Fri, 09 May 2014 at 9:08 AM

One more:

auntietk posted Fri, 09 May 2014 at 10:07 AM

Oooohh Helle!  I like that last one better than any of the others on Ronnie's picture.

btw ... we've changed the DITI Forum format a bit, and are adding the next week's picture at the end of last week's, so we keep the sticky and hopefully get more participation.  If you scroll down on the first page, you'll see this week's DITI picture.  (It happens to be one I posted, but honestly ... I would have told you even if it wasn't!  LOL!)  We're not sure yet if this will work, but it's worth a go!  :)

OH Thank you for telling me, Tara. I have now downloaded it. I didnt discover it, although I was in page one for a few moments.    I made the images almost a week ago, but didnt really have time to follow up. Thank you

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Fri, 09 May 2014 at 2:01 PM

Very nice tweaks Helle :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Sun, 11 May 2014 at 9:02 PM

Inspired by Clive's faux IR, here is mine did it with adjustment layers of chanel mixer and camera raw filter in PS CC  Difference here is I didn't apply the defused glow, thought I'd try it without it, I like the "Digital look" it gave.

auntietk posted Sun, 11 May 2014 at 10:23 PM

I like that one too!  I've just realized I never did anything with it myself.  Guess I'll have to give it a go!  :)

Good morning!! I have two Suggestions for this beautiful photo :-)

helanker posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 2:05 AM

Here is Number two:

helanker posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 2:30 AM

Ronnie, your Image looks like a drawing. I like that very much.

Tara, I do like that soft look you gave it. Calm and inviting..... hmm--- maybe inviting is not the right word

Melinda, you got a very interesting result there. I like the shiny edges and the spooky mood ......

auntietk posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 7:26 AM

I like all three of these!  Melinda, I love your graveyard-in-the-moonlight thing.  That's outstanding!  Helle, I can't decide between yours which I like more.  They're so different from each other, and both marvelous.  :)  Thanks for playing!  :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 8:48 AM

Really good tweaks here, I like them all, Melinda, you seem to have created a whole host of lavender/bluebells :)  Helle the sepia one is like pallate knife work, outstanding, and Auntie, that etherial light is way cool.

kokabeel posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 9:04 AM

Great work everyone!Love seeing how creative everyone is.

Here's my stab at the cemetary.

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 9:19 AM

Kokabeel  Great tweak.  it has a spooky feel.

helanker posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 9:40 AM

Kokabeel, I really like your picture with the grave in focus and the mist around it. Looks really spooky. :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 9:50 AM

Another inspired effort here.   Crop and wild flowers.

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 10:14 AM

Another.  Just a simple tryptich division.

helanker posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 11:01 AM

Ohhh that is indeed lovely, Ronnie and I do like the triptych too.

auntietk posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 11:01 AM

Whatever you did, Kokabeel, it's a fantastic result!

The spring flowers are lovely, Ronnie ... just the thing for a really old cemetery.  And I love the triptych.  So simple, but so effective!  The picture is just right for that cropping.  :)

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Mon, 12 May 2014 at 11:08 AM

Thank you ladies.  Helle.  Very easy to do in Photoshop.  Just use the lasso tool to go around where you want flowers to be.  Hold the shift key for extra selections.  Then feather the selection by one or two pixels.   Selct/modify/feather, or if you are ina more recent Photoshop, use the refine edge dialog.  Once you have your selections, just hit CTRL U to bring up hue and saturation, and alter the hue and saturation sliders.

To get the little bunches of flowers, I used the magic wand, at default values to select little areas, then did the same move as above.  After this you can use the sharpen tool to give the flowers a little more definition.

Adobe_One_Kenobi posted Tue, 13 May 2014 at 9:54 AM

Note next diti posters on the respective Thursdays

Clive This Thursday 15th
Melinda Next Thursday 22nd
Helle The following Thursday 29th
Kokabeel The following Thursday 5th
Priska  The following Thursday 12th
Assuming all runs smoothly of course, we may need to juggle the figures a bit :)

As we are all using the same sticky thread. I will keep an eye on this and update each week.

Thanks all for playing.

auntietk posted Wed, 14 May 2014 at 12:34 AM
