Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 24 11:54 pm)
cant point you to a tut but theres ways
hit W in uveditor and a menu pops up with straighten (X/Y )
or Align (x/y) they do slightly dif things but I aint worked it out,if one dont give what I want I'll try t'other
OR you can select a line of verts and do scale (axis) 0
these need doing on each line in turn
for the one shown in video I would align one of the centre lines
then pin it (P in uv window) then unwrap again (U) in 3d window
can be a bit tedious!! sometimes moving a seam is a better idea
hope that helps

Here's something that may help. I did a search for "straighten UV maps in Blender and this came up. I haven't tried it, but you can check it out to see if it's what you need. Are you exporting your UV mapped Blender model as an obj for use in Poser? If so, does it work well? I'm working in Blender but leaving the mapping until my model is riggied in Poser and then using UV Mapper. It sure would be nice to be able to do it in Blender. I had read some time ago that UV maps didn't translate well so didn't try it.

I can tell you from personal experience that it takes a littlegetting used to, but Blender's UV mapping is pretty good. The key of course is getting those seams right, more than anything.
Quote - uv mapping in blender works fine and its a lot easier then you might think
I've done it a lot in Blender. I use it at work to prepare training aids but I don't have to export the models. I use them for short animations in Blender or a lot of screenshots.
I've never tried to export the finished models with UV maps applied as I'd read in a tutorial somewhere that they didn't translate in the process. If you folks are telling me that they do...well then, I'm in. I'll give 'er a go on my next model.
