Here quite a while back DAZ changed their way of charging for the Pclub. Many people which hadn't wanted to continue to subscribe to it were autocharged for it any way. The only way I could find to stop it was just to not have my CC info at DAZ. Yes, having your CC info at DAZ may make check out faster and easier, but...
Not quite 3 months ago; in fact 3 weeks shy of 3 months ago, I subscribed to the Pclub to get C8.5; and despite my griping I don't completly regret it, yesterday and today I got warnings from DAZ that my payment to the Pclub had failed. I didn't want to resubscribe once it ran out anyway, but here we are with DAZ trying to auto reup my Pclub subscription with no permision from me to do it. So yet again another 3 year old issue at DAZ unrezolved.
Way to consistently make your self look inept DAZ.

Personally I am happy for the auto-charge. I missed out on a sale because they didn't tell me my Pclub had expired. So there you have both sides.

When you subscribe to something you set up a repeat payment against the payment method you used - if you don't want to renew you need to make sure it is set not to renew in your account. I don't have the standard PC set-up so I can't post screenshots, but I think it should be fairly clear if you go to the Platinum Club area of your account (where, if you are renewing, you can adjust the frequency to annual if you want). Note that people paying with PayPal also need to cancel at the PayPal end or the money will be sent regardless of the options at the DAZ end.

I can not uncheck recuring, I uncheck it, hit save, it rechecks. It wont let me unrenew. Same thing that was going on a couple of years ago and why I wipped my card data from DAZ in the first place. Not paypal. It was the only way I could stop it. Still is.
Richard, you know I don't trust DAZ any further then I can comfortably spit a dead rat. This is one of the reasons why.

it's nice to have something to complain about though, you wouldn't want Daz to be clean as a whistle, would you? :)

Well, it should work so please report it - as far as I know it is OK for most users, who want to leave the PC, so it sounds as if there may be a glitch in your account which is worth having checked even if you have fixed the issue.

I tried again lastnight, and once agin this AM; when I got yet another notice. Honestly I'd turn it in but what would be the point, this is the same issue I griped and filed a bug report about a couple of years ago. It just wont let me opt out. It hasn't since DAZ redid that part of the store/billing.

Oh I would love that, it would pratically make my year. lol I mean at least show me some effort. Fix something, anything, please.

No it wouldn't Stan.
If Daz fixed everything you'd know you were in the Matrix or something like that.
You'd have to track down Morpheus and get help.
LOL!

Ok, this is past the point of annoying and rapidly approching legal action. For the past 4 days I have gotten this warning from DAZ twice a day, I am fed to F up with it.

I think if you cancel your Platinum Club subscription, you will stop getting this message.
It used to be that if you unchecked "AutoRenew", it would automatically cancel it for you if I recall correctly. Apparently it does not work like this anymore.

Man, if it wasn't for the fact it's Britteny I am dealling with I'd go on a rip like you ain't seen from me in a while.
Solved my lilly white butt.

Found out the issue. I got the 3 month Pclub membership as part of the C8.5 sale bundle, and that wierded out the payment options.

Well, glad that's sorted out. It can't ever be simple, can it?
wheatpenny posted Tue, 03 June 2014 at 12:57 PM Site Admin
When I bought Carrara 8.5, I got the 3-month PC membership because the total cost of the PC membership + the PC-discounted price of Carrara came out to less than the price of Carrara alone.
But when the time came, I was able to cancel it with no problems. No unwanted charges on my Paypal or anything.

As I said I tried to stop it, when I unchecked the option and hit save, it just rechecked it. And it wasn't through paypal, I don't have paypal; I can thank Blizzard and WOW for my paypal account getting hacked.
Same thing as 2 years ago, I'd try to opt out, hit save and get opted right back in. The only way I could stop DAZ from charging my bank account for the Pclub every month then, was to remove my CC info from my DAZ account. But it didn't stop them from trying to bill me for the Pclub every day for a month.
wheatpenny posted Tue, 03 June 2014 at 3:05 PM Site Admin
OK, going thru Paypal was probably the reason they didn't try to charge me. IIRC, when I bought it, it automatically set up an automatic recurring payment in my Paypal account, but I immediately cancelled that, and that is probably the reason I didn't have any problems, there was no way for them to charge me without an authorised way to do it.
