Hi.  I'm interested in attempting to learn Vue, but don't have the resources for the new version.  Is there some place to pick up older versions to learn the basics?

Thanks.

Tony

Nom there isn't really. I'm assuming with resourced you mean money :) If you want to learn Vue, there are a few free options.

The basic version is here: http://www.cornucopia3d.com/products/vue/vue_2014_pioneer/?page=0

This version you can start out with for free and get basic Vue functionatily. Along the way you can add modules you like or upgrade to next version up once you have some money to do so.

There also is a personal learning edition, free as well. It's the full version, Vue infinite, but only for personal use and there are some restrictions in the rendering area. PLE is here: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/ple/

Keep in mind that PLE is the full blown most expensive one and if you buy a different version, you will not have all the features that are in the PLE. When you choose PLE, make sure you install the Infinite version and not the xStream one. Infinite is stand-alone, xStream for integration with 3D Studio Max, Maya and so on.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Wow, thanks!  I'll be heading up to my office at the University tomorrow, so I'll make sure I download from there.  I appreciate the information.  I teach an occasional course on the Literature of the Graphic Word, and I've been sneaking in things like how to create your own comics using Poser, DAZ Studio, and Vue was recommended to me as well as something my students might enjoy working with.

Then PLE is just perfect for you, I'd say :)

Older versions sometimes don't work with newer operating systems, so Benjamin is right, the free Vue Pioneer or the PLE version might suit you at least for now.
