Subject: Eye poses creation?

Hi!

How can I save the eye position, eye size and modifications to a pose file? And how can I make the eye pointing to the same spot and / or move, using for this a prop.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards!

Saving the pose.

With the figure selected in the scene go to the library, pose section, click the "+" add to library button.

In the next pop up window type in a name for the pose then click the "Select Subset" button.

In the next pop up window just select the eyes. You may find it quickest to deselect everything by clicking the "UNIVERSE" check box then scroll down and click the two eye check boxes. When done click the "OK"'s

In the next "addtional information" dialog select the morph checkbox.

In the final dialog select your choice of either a single or multi frame pose. Complete by clicking the final "OK"

This will save all morph, rotation and translation data to the pose. If you also need scaling you will need to manually edit the resulting pose file.

Point At

To have the eye point at another object select the eye, go to the Object > Point At menu and select the desired prop from the pop up list of actors.

Note for this to work correctly the eye end point must correctly allign with its center. You can use the joint editor to check and adjust this if required.

Just make certain that when using the Point At feature, move the object to a distance where the eyes will look natural.  Too close and the eyes will appear crossed.

I often find that pointing the eyes to an actual prop in the scene does not get the effect i want even after changeing the point at parameter.  In cases like this I use the Poser ball primitive and have the eyes point at that, then make the ball invisable and move it to where I get the effect I want.  This is often further away from the prop but the eyes do look correct.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
