"HI Ringo
Nice idea, which unfortunately,. normally works better than the integrated Carrara /genesis loading / importing process,. ...but not this time.
I get these two errors.
The scene is completely useless…
I’m also opposed to purchasing a “Pro” version of a software, and then using a Free software to make the thing work with content supplied by the same company .
it’s truly shameful.
can you imagine Adobe saying to a customer,. Try opening your image in GIMP, ....then Photoshop should read it.
This needs to be addressed urgently" 3DAGE DAZ carrara forum.

More and more disgruntled voices. It is too bad. We can only hope that DAZ will see the light and decide that maybe they should show Carrara some much needed attention.
Bryce isn't being developed, Hex isn't being developed, Carrara isn't being developed and even Studio's development cycle has slowed to a crawl. I don't think the current DAZ management is up to the task of handling multiple software programs. With all the content bugs you've pointed out, it also seems DAZ isn't quite up to content Q&A either.
Well, I'm still very happy with Carrara Pro 8.1. It works great. If Carrara 9 ever sees the light of day, I hope it will work great again.

Hey Stan & Books.
What is with you guys? Don't you know it's all the complainers and people pointing out problems that are the real problem? Not the poor development practices of any company or neglect.
If only people would stop complaining and start cheeleading, then the software would somehow magically work properly.
PS. C7Pro still works great for me. When C8.5Pro gets fixed (magically by people not saying it's broken) then I will be able to upgrade.

Most certainly sarcasm.

Darn edit button vanished on me.
I just wanted to clear up any misconceptions about my original comment here. I guess most people got that it was sarcasm.
For those who didn't...
If you go over to the daz forums, if you say something is broken, you stand a good chance of getting attacked from all sides. People have this weird idea, that if no one says something is broken, then it will somehow fix itself.
Before they created the new forum, it wasn't uncommon to see a person not "cheerleading" being hit by attacks and (in some ways worse) pictures of kittens and rainbows. Daz has prevented that (I guess, I'm not there much).
Hope that clears that up.

me too. very happy with 8.1 :)
I bought 8.5 out of misguided loyalty.
wouldn't it be good if daz showed the same misguided loyalty back towards its customers ?l

@daz3d If your not going to fix Carrara so that it can use Genesis 2 - or the 100's of other bugs, maybe you should sale to someone who will

Man, you scared me there for a minute. I thought perhaps an alien invader had laid its egg in your abdomen and was about to break loose.
Glad to know it's really you. :)
Besides, DAZ is never going to get me into one of those cheerleading outfits. I lost my girlish figure ages ago and I'm not shaving my legs for anybody. Just sayin'.

Checked the DAZ carrara forum this AM. 60% of posts where commercial, 1% was contests/challenges, 35% were posts about issues; I wouldn't go so far as to call them complaints, 2% were asking for instructions, And 1% was showing off.
Seems a bit disproportionet.

Sounds a little bit like commercial TV. All those annoying, loud commercials right in the middle of a dramatic climax.
And don't get me started on reality TV. Sheesh.

Reality TV is a controdiction in terms lol
When DAZ gets something right I usually point it out.
But when the field is half finished, with muddy pot holes, and the field covered with "organic" fertalized, cheerleading is not only uncalled for, but down right dangerous lol
