I am using 64-bit Poser Pro 2014 (latest updates applied) on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 OS machine with core i7 processor and 16GB RAM.
I try to render a movie of a simple rotating prop for iPhone5 format, but the render hangs at the last frame (frame number 20).
Is there something else I need to prep my movie settings with, in order to avoid this hanging on the last frame ?

where are you saving the file to? Do you have sufficient permissions to save to that location?
strongly suggest saving individual frames then convert/compile result to suitable movie format. That way if there is a glitch at say the last frame you still have all the other frames and maybe only need to re-render the last frame.

Ah ok. Yes, have permissions set to render to that location. I was rendering for iPhone5 format. I switched to uncompressed AVI and the rendering completed.
Noted: rendering individual frames and compiling into animated movie. Yes, i have done that before in the past, too.

Hi.
In general animations are rendered to sequences of frames. That's how studios like Pixar do it and for good reasons. It's easier to replace range of frames and lengthy rendererings don't rinsk to be lost, like you experienced. Movie clips should be avoided.
Cheers.
