Yeah, we like YOUR product.

You made us like it 'cuz we see the promos of your product.

Would you be as so kind as to use the promo credits tab? Please?

I may also like the hair style you chose, the texture you chose for the character/morphs, hair, or clothes (if not provided), the clothes you selected, the pose set you used.

If you really dont want a gazillion PM's.....(unless of course you have used resources outside of RENDO, and/or there is some restriction to do so...and not that you have to answer the PM's....)

Please....thank you.

Oh, I have to agree with you on this one! Full promo credits should be given on the product. Especially the lights used and what version of Poser the promos were rendered in!!!!!!

I'll third that.  It's especially frustrating when it's some unusual item from and obscure content site.

Software requirements are already referenced in the ad copy.

For lights, unless a vendor used a pre-fabricated light set, I don't think  they need to go that far.  You may as well ask what render settings they used to create the promo.

All I'm interested in are the products they used, so I can use them with the product they're selling, and whatever else in my library they're compatible with.

Please attribute the character(s), hair, clothing used in promos- with links if you can.

maxxxmodelz posted Tue, 22 July 2014 at 6:00 PM

I don't think a vendor needs to credit their lights.  That's a little overboard.  They should only need to credit other vendors, freebie creators, or stock material used in their promos.  I would also prefer if they indicated what post work was done to enhance the promo renders too, if any.

Sorry, lighting is one of my bugaboos. When I was a vendor here, I got emails about my lighting method and it just would have been much easier if I'd just made some mention of my lighting setup in my promo credits. At the very least I'd like to see vendors say which version of Poser was used on the promo because that tells me a lot. There are a number of vendors I've messaged (and I'm not going to say who), that replied that they were using Poser 9 for their promos, well that tells me right there that they're not using GC because they don't have it available in their version (and those that do have it available aren't using it!!!!), so if I'm going to buy a texture set I already know I have to run Scene Fixer over it to change gamma on transmaps and bump maps and the texture set will look different with GC, ect.

Not necessarily.  Just because more recent versions of Poser offer GC doesn't mean whomever has them is going to use GC.

If a vendor includes the light  he should also include the render settings. Stuff can look very different if you use GC, or even worse, GI, Especially if the materials aren't build for GC or GI.

I'm not asking for the world, but just let me know what you did.

Why?

  1. I'm going to (eventually) buy YOUR product.

  1. If you used another one of your products, guess what? CHA-CHING!

  1. You may have helped another Rendo vendor. Consider: If YOU liked what product they made to help sell yours.....

  1. It's just good customer service and we don't have to bother you with those pesky annoying PMs (that you may or many not answer) :D

Can't tell you how many times I've seen something in a Marketplace ad and wondered what hair or clothing they used and where to find it.  It's very frustrating when they don't give promo credits.

I agree fully.

Also whilst you are there doing that, could you please add say V4 or genesis words onto the promo pic, since the renderosity website no longer tells us from the shopping page what figure the item is for. eg "for V4S4"
