Hi,

I’ve been quiet on these boards lately, but progress continues at a furious pace.

Right now I’m preparing a story board for the entire film, complete with all the voice acting in place. I wish I could show you more of the cool stuff (scenes). waiting on Octane for Carrara before I can do this atm.

Comments welcome.

Interesting preview. The music matches the feel of the video. Cool stuff. Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks BooksbyDavid,

The previous trailer was 2 years old. Time for a refresh!

Just got drawn into your channel through watching your vid, great stuff, loved looking at the synths as well!

Had to lol at the Kawai K1R unboxing, the drama of it all, yes indeed, I remember the days.  My first synth was a Kawai K1 (the keyboard version).  Bought it second-hand but nevertheless it was a step up from a standard keyboard for me, so I was pretty chuffed.  Had visions of sounding like the Pet Shop Boys, but sadly it was short lived because I didn't know much about synths at the time, couldn't get it to work multitimbrally.  In the end I sold and bought a different synth thinking it just didn't have the ability, thought I was misunderstanding it or something.

Duh!

Anyway, will be keeping an eye on your channel, some good stuff on there :-)

Thanks Pumeco.

If you have money and still want to sound like the Pet Shop Boys, get hold of one of these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu0EsapgHfA

Wish I had the dosh!

re: updates. I post daily updates on the project here.

When I can get from the prep phase out to the market phase I plan to do a lot more with the Synths.

Thanks again for your interest.

Haha, yup, wish I had the dosh as well although I've never been a fan of the PPG Wave, couldn't even bring myself to buy the VST version, sounds sort of 'empty' to me, like a granular synth.

I won't be visiting Facebook (wouldn't touch it with a bargepole) but I'll definitely keep an eye on your YouTube page.  I'm currently looking at Carrara animations so I'll be watching through that series you have on there.  I've been trying to find long animations done in Carrara as well, but no luck so far.

Ok fair enough, I use an SH-101 for fat bass anyway, re: facebook I understand. For me it is a nessessary evil.

Re: Long animations. My series will be feature film length when complete. We are up to epsidoe 9 atm.

pumeco posted Thu, 21 August 2014 at 8:57 AM

Yup, saw the SH-101 video, that's more like it, keep it fat!
Definitely wouldn't say no to an SH-101, love the analogue gear.

I'll watch your Carrara animations in full tonight, I notice you have a playlist for it so I can just leave it on auto-play.  I look forward to the movie version.  I wish there was more stuff to look at though, I mean bloody hell, I thought Poser was bad for lack of animations but Carrara is even worse from initial impressions.

Seems really odd, Carrara has some powerful animation tools, I wonder why more people aren't animating.

SciFiFunk posted Thu, 21 August 2014 at 9:12 AM

Carrara is a very useful all-in-one tool, but with quite a few bugs. It also costs money, so a lot of those people go to Blender (if they can understand it), or DAZ 3D (if not).

The pros look down on Carrara so no joy there.

HOWEVER! When Octane for Carrara arrives (soon I hope), that might give this software a second life.

Either way I've invested 4.5 years into this project - too late to change now!

Just watched them all

Wow, you definitely got a feel of the UK and it feels quite epic as well.  Extra points given for the fact that you scored it yourself (love the opening track on Episode 7) and I like the little bits of humour thrown in!

WTF, would you like a little bit of pickle? :woot:

SciFiFunk posted Thu, 21 August 2014 at 11:05 AM

Ha ha. Great man. Glad you appreciate the humour.

When I came up with that line I had an ex-bank manger recording the Mr Walters part with me and it just appealed to me to totaly send up his straight laced character. He saw the funny side too.

Lots more to come ... WARNING! It gets more crazy and Dystopian as we go through the episodes. Expect to be shocked and challenged on a number of fronts.

Great stuff, I look forward to seeing it all, seriously I could watch this stuff for hours.

Although I'm not really an animator I love seeing what others come up with.  I also use it to get an idea of how capable a program might be, and as I'm looking for an all-in-one solution so that I can have a go at animation myself, I've decided to install Carrara 8.5 Pro and have another look at it (been years since I give it a decent looking at).

Already have some questions but I'll start a new thread so that this one doesn't get derailed :-)

One thing you get with Carrara is a very friendly and helpful user community on the DAZ 3D forums. They helped me no end.

pumeco posted Fri, 22 August 2014 at 5:15 AM

Yup, DAZ is cool but I can't post there, think 'ManleyStanley' situation
