Do you really think the promo on the front page with all the severed heads is a bit insensitive, given what's going on with the beheadings in the middle east?
Did you even consider that it might be in bad taste to put that up right now?

You mean Shade of Sorrow? or one I'm not seeing

Yes this was the only one I see as well.
Please direct me to the image you are referring to and I will be glad to look into it.

A Halloween THEME contest and sale to go along with the contest (which we do every year) has everything to do with the theme of the holiday, HALLOWEEN so I would be surprised that anyone would see it as connected with those unfortunate incidents as it's a HALLOWEEN themed event which is quite different. In reality anyone could look at almost any item, at any place on the internet, in any fun traditional event promotion..pretty much anything and probably find SOMETHING that they try to make into someone being "insensitive" or "relating" to something bad going on in the world if they tried hard enough.
I looked through everything on the front page and see nothing (unless someone was really trying hard to find a way to make something into something it's not meant to be) that is not considered appropriate for a Halloween themed event. ??

tbh, some people are going to get offended no matter what you do - often "on behalf" of someone/group who actually don't give a t*ss about it shrug people are weird.

I was referring to the thumbnail for this product that was on the front page at the time I posted.
Severed heads. Named Conquerors Delight.
Another thumbnail would have been a bit more sensitive.
It's on Page 3 finally, so it's a moot point anyway now.

It is Halloween time so it makes sense in that way. However, keep in mind there are artists that do political art. So while it may not be everyone's cup of tea for those who want to create pieces pertaining to the issues you mentioned it would be a handy product.
It's also viable for historical war images.

Please consider how insensitive this is.

Was that a tiny bit of sarcasm I noted there? :)

3 innocent people have been beheaded over the last 3 weeks. I'm glad you think that's something worthy of sarcasm.
Frankly, anyone with TASTE would have insisted on a different thumbnail out of respect for the families who lost loved ones.
I realize I expect too much out of Renderosity, especially something TASTEFUL.

This is an art site - there's all sorts of stuff in the market place. Are vendors supposed to check the socio/political situation across the entire globe before they release a thumbnail?
Or do you need to take a chill pill - it's not like it was going to be done intentionally to upset people
get a grip ffs

I remember however, a few months ago, an issue being brought up asking that violent, gory images be given a content advisory thumb. I agree with that, and it seems like Kim or one of the other admins here agreed it should be looked into.
If course, we're not talking about blood-soaked warriors here, but dismembered bodyparts, or diseased individuals (realistic zombies in particular) Primarily dismembered bodyparts, however. Also bear in mind that violence is much more censored over in Europe, so this stuff would be considered even more NSFW than it is here in North America.

I hear what you're saying Glitter. But honestly, I have been following the news and I didn't even make the connection between those ISIS nutters and the product on this site.
