Greetings all.

Working in Poser Pro 2014 and need to make some simple props I can set up in the application and save to props library so that whatever preexisting item in the group retains its original designated textures.

I have parented attached props to the main prop designated as Parent.

I export that prop to .obj file and then tell Poser what items are to also be exported with it as childed parts.

The problem is that once the saved out .obj file is reimported in Poser there is now only one material base I can apply thus losing all the individual childed prop textures.

How can I fix this w/o going into UV Mapper, an application I can't use on my Mac w/o a lot of stuff to rig, instaal or convert and even if I do manage to get working, previous attempts to use it have failed miserably.  :(

If you are setting this up in Poser and using it in Poser, why are you exporting the prop?

I have not tried this, but Once you have the parent and its children set up, why not select the parent and save it to the Library as a character?

Select the parent prop.  Click the + to save it as a prop to the library, but use the select subset button when prompted for a name, and tick all of the props you want.  A single prop file will be saved to the library, but it will consist of all of the chosen props, parented in the same hierarchy you had when you saved them.  And they will all still have their own material.

Example is in order.

The old Poser female hand for instance left and right with a strap between them saved out as A Poser Prop and reimported into Poser as props to be used as a fantasy bra.

Character figures can't be saved as Prop files....I think...but if I export the hands seperately and then parent them as imported .obj files to a strap primitive and then save it as a prop file I can reposition the hands individuall on the strap Parent as needed for furure breast movements.

That I do know. See my example respond to Jaajger for a better explanation.

If the prop needs to be aligned to a figure body part, then parent the prop to that body part, and save the prop.  Poser will ask if you want to save it as a smart prop.  Answer yes, and next time you load the prop from the library, it will automatically go to that body part, already parented.
