Subject: Grouping BB's Stocking shader?

I've been playing around and going over tutorials on shaders and Tools for the material room in Poser Pro 2014.  I love EZskin, it's amazing and I've been having a lot of fun with Bagginsbill's free stocking shader. What I would like to know is can I set up the shader in a group ... save it and use it on top of an SSS shader from EZskin (or any other shader already in place rather than simply replace the existing shader?  I'm still learning this ... if it's an easy "hea, that's what the grouping feature int he Mat room is all about" I'm sorry, but I'd like to know if this can be done. :)

I did the opposite of that. I set up the sss as a shader and then made a compound node of the portion connected to the alternative specular and plugged that into blender node where the skin texture map is plugged in. You could save that and just change the image map. It's not quick a one click solution but it might help.

Thanks, I'll have to try that.  :)

Brilliant shader.  If BB wrote a book with node and math explanations and inluded a disk of his materials, I'd be the first in line. :)

no doubt. I'd be second in line, but only because I'm a lady and won't pusha head of you.

The dress is a combination of his velvet shader and his sequins shrunk down to glitter size and the shoes are his lame (there's supposed to be an accent over the e but I don't remember how to do that) shader.

He was talking about it for a while, but I think he was seduced away by better paying programming work...

Dang - I haven't played with those hose shaders in a very long time.... I'll have to go back and re-learn that again!

(slightly OT) @ RedPhantom - I see you've installed SR4 - I've read a few not-so-encouraging things happening to folks after installing it.. Have you noticed any issues? I've not installed it yet, and PP2014 keeps reminding me...LOL

Some people are reporting that icons go missing in the library.  I have the Game Dev version which is based on SR4 but I use the Library Manager so I have not noticed that and I have not noticed any other issues.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

Actually, I've had less issues than before, but I think that was due to a failing hard drive. I'm using the game development version.  I haven't had issues with the library. I use the external library so that might be why. My big issue is random crashes, but I had that before I updated and I can't say there's more of them.

OK - Thanks for the replies! I'll go ahead and install it next week - going on a short vacation this week! (yipee!)

I see icons disappear every now and then, but restarting Poser usually brings them back.

Too bad.  I've been trying to figure out BB's stocking shaders and can't figure out how something that looks so rough as a texture looks so good on the model.  I guess I'm third in line!  :)
